As the elected team captain of my DII college basketball team, I took on crucial roles in decision-making, leadership, and guiding my teammates.
I believe that leadership involves directing and inspiring others toward a common goal. Feeling the weight of this responsibility, I chose to lead by example rather than relying solely on authority, committing to never asking my teammates to do anything I wouldn’t do myself.
This elevated my leadership skills as it built mutual trust and strengthened the bond amongst the team.
